Challenge/response for messages from unknown senders

Description
SPIM is at least for me quite a bit on the rise. handle_unknown=ignore is one option, but that means real people can't contact me if I don't have them listed as a contact.
I've made a simple challenge/response: http://gigo.com/ftp/pub/src/bitlbee-challenge-response.patch is where I'll maintain my copy of the patch; I'll attach what I have now to the tracker.

No problem, I'll fix it if you want. :-)
The idea is interesting... I wonder if more people need this. If this gets a couple of votes I can import it. Have you tried applying this patch to a recent bzr tree?

Thanks for fixing anonymous.
I haven't even *heard* of BZR until the last couple of days. I'm slated to start a new job shortly; I don't think I'll be able to get around to applying this to 1.1; at least not immediately. If there is interest, once I've settled in with the new job and have time for "stuff" again I'll look into it if nobody else has.

I have a new patch, but apparently I don't have permission to post it.

Updated for 1.2

I would also like this. I had previously tried to use a pidgin plugin with bitlbee's libpurple backend to this purpose, but that obviously came to nothing.

This sounds like a great idea to me. Any chance of getting this applied?

If someone can update it to be a working plugin for 3.0 that keeps as much logic as possible within the plugin, I'll merge it.
Sorry for posting anonymously.
