Description

I've repeatedly blocked a spam bot as well as someone I used to have on my MSN friends list, but both are still able to contact me. As for the latter, I can still see her status changes.

My error; it appears the spam bot was on AIM. Nevertheless, neither the MSN nor AIM contact as blocked.

block is only block, it doesn't remove the person from your list. So depending on the IM protocol implementation, you'll keep seeing those updates.

Block should've worked though..

Not really sure why you left this open, it is indeed a misunderstanding. The block feature does work correctly.
