Description

My friend's nickname is "foo bar". Here is what I see in my irssi status window when he connects and disconnects:

10:30 [bitlbee] * bar@oscar JOIN :&bitlbee 10:30 [bitlbee] * bar@oscar QUIT :Leaving...

Argh, those spaces keep coming back. :-(

Two things: Do you use libpurple? And can you see what this looks like in raw IRC logs?

Yes.

And can you see what this looks like in raw IRC logs?

I will save the rawlog next time it happens.

Thank you.

Here is the log, with nicknames edited out for privacy. The local hostname is belvedere.

I used irssi.

:root!root@belvedere PRIVMSG &bitlbee :oscar(atnnn) - Logging in: Logged in
:foobar!foo bar@oscar JOIN :&bitlbee
:quuxqaz!quux qaz@oscar JOIN :&bitlbee
:belvedere MODE &bitlbee +v quuxqaz

foobar and quuxqaz do not appear in the names list for &bitlbee.
