Description
TwIRCD has a good approach of showing user's avatar through IRC (using libcaca): http://schlitt.info/opensource/blog/0730_twitter_avatars_in_twircd.html
Despite the fact this post calls this feature 'useless', I have about 6 IMs accounts in different protocols (each one for one purpose: my students, my family members, my geek friends etc.). Sometimes I cannot remember who I'm speaking with, based on his username. The avatar gives me a clue about who I'm talking with.

Lowering priority to pony. This is silly, but patches welcome.
