#918 closed enhancement (wontfix)

move messages written in other clients into the chat

Description

I noticed that there is a contact for ones own skype by the plugin, where seemingly the stuff I write myself through other connected skype clients appear.

Wouldnt it be possible to move this into the actual private message session one is having it with, in the same style irc proxy's like BIP does. so that messages I write would then show up at me as "<otherperson> -> The message i am writing on another client"?

Not sure I exactly understand what you want, but here is how I got: if you connect to skyped from two BitlBee instances, and you wring something in instance #0, you want to see it in instance #1 as well.

Does receiving messages in two BitlBee instances work at all? IIRC skyped just drops the previous connection when the second instance connects to it.

Regarding BitlBee vs native client: I have to check, but I guess the dbus api skyped uses doesn't even notify about the native client sent a message, so that won't show up in BitlBee. But maybe ,y memory serves wrong.

Resolution: wontfix
Status: newclosed

The bitlbee feature this ticket mentions now exists and is called 'self messages' http://wiki.bitlbee.org/SelfMessages

The dbus-api-based-skype part isn't happening (this works with the skypeweb purple plugin. mostly.)
