#909 closed enhancement (not-feasible)
Add configurable timeout *before* messages are displayed as an anti-spam feature on twitter (possibly other protocols)

Description
I often get bot-spam on twitter which gets deleted fairly quickly on the web interface, but bitlbee faithfully displays it.
Example:
14:19 + nitamovfr [nitamovfr@twitter] joined #twitter_taupan 14:19 nitamovfr > [51] @HanJin500 @Oliviaaaas @GabiiFurtadool @TauPan @Ms_JessicaLee http://t.co/M6CwSyv1 <tinyurl.com/6rnzhc5/Jtlo>
I think this could be helped if bitlbee gives new tweets/replies (from new users) a grace period, before displaying them, to give the twitter server a chance to react to block requests ;)
Maybe some other protocols could also benefit from this, not sure.

Replying to Wilmer van der Gaast <wilmer@…>:
I just disabled show_mentions. I'll see the ones from people I follow, most others are spam. Especially since my Twitter username is just my first name. If it isn't spam it's people who think I am someone they know.
I've had legitimate replies from followers of followers before, so this is not an option for me.
Anyway, I don't think this is feasible. Requires lots of polling. I'll leave it open if someone else wants to do it.
Are you sure Twitter close these spam accounts so quickly? In my experience clicking the "mark as spam" button is as effective as printing the tweet and shredding it. (I.e. not at all.)
Yes. I'm talking about getting immediate replies from bots that trigger on some keyword in your tweet. Every time I checked, the replier was already gone as soon as I had logged on to twitter. My guess is those bots are automatically blocked for uncontrolled mass-tweeting or something like that.
Real humans who post SEO nonsense and other misbehaviour are another matter entirely.
