Description
Hey.
To my knowledge, imo.im is the only way to use Skype that doesn't require a running Skype instance. Sadly imo.im offers no Jabber interface.
However there is a Miranda plugin that apparently bridges the gap: http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?action=viewfile&id=4146 So in principle, writing something like that for Bitlbee should be possible, too, right?
I figure I'm not the only one who is just this one step away from merging all communications.

I'm sure it's possible but what is needed is someone who's interested in spending time on that. Porting an IM module from a different program is not that simple. If you like writing C you can do it, and I'm happy to give you some hints on where to start.

Interestingly in that link the author has written an IMO.IM to SkypeAPI daemon process. There is already a libpurple plugin that talks to the SkypeAPI of the Skype client. Might be pretty easy to redirect it to the proxy he's written - *bam* Skype in bitlbee ;)

Pretty easy for someone who knows what he's doing, anyway..
