Cannot add/accept Yahoo contacts

Reported by: Ethan Grammatikidis <eekee57@…> Owned by: wilmer

IRC client+version: Client-independent Operating System: MacOS
OS version/distro: 10.5.8

Description

Yahoo does not recognise when I accept contact requests using Bitlbee. I see the request, I answer "yes" (or "yes 0"), but when I next log in I see the request again. The sender does not get notified that I accepted.

Similarly if I "add 0 some_name@…" some_name never receives my request.

Try again without the @yahoo.com part?

That worked, thank you.

Cool. :-)

More people make this mistake, I'll keep this bug open as a reminder to make BitlBee more clever about this somehow.

The inability to handle auth. requests is also definitely something that needs fixing. :-( I hope the biggest problem's solved for you now though.

Yeah, it's solved for me. :) I do get some repeat requests every _account on_, but that's not awful. One request is from 3 or 4 years ago ;

Auth. requests are fixed. Don't think there's a good warning on wrongly formatted handles yet.
