I don't know, it looks like the MSN servers didn't like a command sent by my "remove".
I am running bitlbee-1.0.3_3 in daemonized mode on FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE, and connect to it with irssi-0.8.11 I'm available for any further diagnosis and tests you'd want to run, of course.

Sure, done. I wish Trac had some way to keep the Cc hidden but allow people to add themselves. :-/
About the bug, I'm tempted to blame Microsoft, after all it's their server that disconnects you after throwing an error...

Haha
I am unsure myself yeah, I thought that bitlbee likely sent a command that MS now considers harmful and/or has deprecated.
It might be a random occurrence too, for all we know.
I wish you good luck if you're going to investigate the issue, and it'd prolly be safe to use a test account that doesn't mind being permabanned after 5-6 tries.

All my MSN accounts are 100% disposable and just for testing purposes, so no problem. :-P
Can you reproduce this problem? Did the person actually disappear from your list? (The "account banned" thing comes up more often, but this doesn't have to be the case.)

Good point, that person wasn't even removed from my list it seems.
I'm not too keen on trying to reproduce the problem as my account isn't disposable :p
If you like I can get you a shell account and access to my bitlbee though, in case its setup-specific or whatnot.

Fixed by msnp13 branch, now merged.
Aw, the "cc" field is public? Care to blank it please? I don't fancy bots prodding it...
