Description
I'm using bitlbee through mIRC (windows operating system) and it seems that when I'm idle (if I don't send messages to the main channel or private message queries) the server causes a software connection abort. This goes on for 2 to 5 minute intervals after IRC atempts to reconnect to the servers. This only happens when using a proxy trhough port 80. Any ideas or explanations ass to why does this happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I don't think this is BitlBee's fault.
Note: See

I think that's your HTTP proxy killing the connection intentionally, due to idleness.
Tried scripting your mIRC to send hidden messages to the server?
