Got this when joining to a groupchat with a nick that was already used: 

16:58 <@root> jabber - Error: Error joining groupchat example@conference.example.com/dx: conflict

My irc client still kept the window open as if the join had succeeded. Replying with a numeric error code should fix this. Or maybe not, but do something so that the irc client knows the join failed.
