gtalk JID mismatch when id's match?

Description
when I join gtalk, I get a rather confusing message:
14:59 >>@root<< gtalk - Logging in: Server claims your JID is
                `ffFlammie@gmail.com' instead of `ffFlammie@gmail.com'. This
mismatch may cause problems with groupchats and possibly other
                things.
it seems to me that the JIDs on both sides are the same.
