"Invalid channel name" after installing Bitlbee

I installed Bitlbee 3.0.5, started the daemon and joined via Irssi.

Result: "[bitlbee] -!- Invalid channel name" every couple of seconds in the log.

strace shows lots of "read(10, "JOIN \r\n", 512)".

If BitlBee is reading those, your IRC client must be sending those. See /RAWLOG.

Couldn't find anything /RAWLOG. Why would irssi send empty JOINs to Bitlbee? any ideas on how to debug that?

Not really.. You see nothing repetitive in RAWLOG?
