msn contacts failing - adding and online status

Description
I have experienced some different issues.
when adding contacts, some of them do not get the notice. Some of those that did not get them got them when i tried with bitlbee-libpurple
one contact I added worked fine for a few days, then simply began appearing constantly offline.
one contact i added appears offline every time i reconnect to the server, if i remove and readd, contact comes offline. This contact is NOT even stored on my contact list according to libpurple.
