Description (last modified by )
I was first requesting an option to turn off the leading [00:00:00] timestamps, I now realize that's only for past tweets once you connect.
I with all of geert's tickets regarding Twitter. As well as had a few more enhancements in mind. Such as...
- Usernames not being formatted to all lowercase if they aren't.
- Simply renaming or being able to rename the 'chat' mode channel to just '&twitter'. (ie. control_channel =
&bitlbee', chat_channel =
&twitter') - This is really purely a cosmetic issue but is the 'twitter_' part of twitter_name@twitter really necessary?
- That's all I can think of now. Great job!

Description: | modified (diff) |

- set lcnicks false (does apply to all accounts though)
- Yeah, that'd be nice, I agree. Sadly with the current UI this gets a bit hackish. It'll be improved in the near future.
- It seems like the right thing to do. If it'd be just $username, it's likely to collide with your own nickname. If it'd be just twitter, it'd break if someone has multiple Twitter accounts (I don't know who does that, but I do have both Wilmer and BitlBee listed in "account list").
- Great, enjoy!
Let me know what you think. It looks to me like there are no action items in this bug for which I have to keep it open.

Thanks for the response. Understood about the nick collision issue (re: my #3), since mine would be the same. Argh.
Just remembered another great feature that tircd uses which would be cool to see bitlbee use. On a /whois you'll receive something along the lines of:
0000 [tircd] -!- user [user@twitter] 0000 [tircd] -!- ircname : First Last 0000 [tircd] -!- away : Location: Somewhere 0000 [tircd] -!- away : Bio: Informative and interesting 0000 [tircd] -!- away : Last Update: Hello world! 0000 [tircd] -!- server : web http://twitter.com/ 0000 [tircd] -!- idle : 11 days 11 hours 11 mins 11 secs 0000 [tircd] -!- channels : +#twitter

Oops, that didn't format right at all, and I can't edit it. Let's see if quoting it works.

Some of that may be possible, but in the end feature parity with tircd is not my goal. BitlBee is a multi-protocol client, those usually lack some of the functionality that dedicated clients do have.
But some things can easily be done with all the hooks that BitlBee already has, so let's see.

I originally submitted this and just wanted to say thanks for all the new features that've been added since posting this. I don't think any were related to these (petty) request, but the new one displaying <the actual url> is huge. Thanks, guys.

Renaming to the one actual issue in here.
In mode=one, the single Twitter user can already be renamed.

er, that's "ilf@…" not geert.
