Description
Microsoft offers a unified messaging platform for enterprise customers. The current versions of the server component are called Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and the client is named Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2007. A Web-based gateway called Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access is also available.
While it is not clear to the submitter how these products' technologies relate to earlier enterprise products like the Exchange Instant Messenger Service and the Microsoft Messenger or public network clients like MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger and their associated authentication services, it is apparent that BitlBee's MSN support does not interoperate with the enterprise products.
While the Office Communicator client has numerous unified messaging features like VoIP support over SIP, this enhancement request only seeks initial support for chat. Multi-user chat support would be a useful additional enhancement.
