Description
AIM may be breaking non-clientlogin auth at some point in the future. Non-libpurple bitlbee doesn't support that. It had a specified shutdown date but it was suspended and it's unspecified now. Still should be done.

Laziness won this battle. (also the need to get 3.5 out asap)

Hi,
Am now getting "Hello. Effective 3/28, we will no longer support connections to the AIM network via this method. If you wish to use the free consumer AIM product, we invite you to visit www.aim.com for more information."
Looks like AOL got around to it.
Then again, this may become a moot point in 2 months: https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/talkingtech/2017/10/06/rip-aim-aol-instant-messenger-dies-december/739076001/

That's the exact same message they sent the last time, with the same date. They also sent it to the wrong people the last time, funnily enough. We wasted quite a bit of time talking with AOL back then. And yeah, now it's dying completely.
I'm glad I didn't implement this tbh.

Worked out well. Easiest fix for bugs is the off switch. ;)
I switched to a libpurple build to get AOL access back until December. Friends are discussing the next platform to move to.
Once AOL is gone I'll be switching back to a normal build. Really don't need the 20 or so dependencies it sucked in.
