Hi All,
I'm a newbie on Bitlbee and I'm not a developer and specially I'm not familiar with Linux but all I know is I'm using a fedora 12. Someone, could be so kind and explain to me on how to install the bitlbee-libpurple. And if there is a URL or site to download the so called library.
Thanks and Many thanks for the fast reply.

I wrote a rough summary here
http://wiki.bitlbee.org/HowtoWhatsapp
I haven't tested any of this so I can't give more details than what's in there, but there's a few external links that might help.

Closing all protocol request tickets.
For most of the requested protocols, it's likely we won't have time and/or interest to implement them, and some tickets have stayed open here for years when they have libpurple implementations, or even as third party plugins. Implementing protocols in the core is far from a priority nowadays, although I hope we can make it easier to write third party plugins. As always, anyone who is interested in implementing bitlbee plugins for these can do so, and we're willing to help (join irc!)
In this particular case, there's http://wiki.bitlbee.org/HowtoWhatsapp - which got some helpful edits since i made it, yay wikis - and i'm now using this personally so i'll probably be improving some rough edges soon.
But yeah, not built-in.
You can use bitlbee-libpurple and https://github.com/davidgfnet/whatsapp-purple
Note that it's not trivial to set up an account, and you can't use whatsapp from more than one device simultaneously. That means that if you choose to use bitlbee for whatsapp, you must stop using it on your phone.
