It would be great to be able to set a time limit on how old twitter mentions listed on connect can be.

There's the fetch_old_mentions already.

If someone feels like updating it to take numbers as well (interpreted as a number of seconds for max age of mention) I can merge it. (Don't forget the doc update!)

There's show_old_mentions which does take numbers, but the number means number of tweets, not time. So that suggestion doesn't really work. Would have to be a new setting.

Recent bitlbee revisions default show_old_mentions to 0 to mitigate most of this, and on stream reconnect, they only show tweets since the last connection, no repeated ones. Lowering priority.
