Description
Hi,
I'd be cool to opt to keep our buddys' user information private @ QUIT/PART messages; maybe @ other sensible places too.
Also, it's sometimes annoying to see the following @ &bitlbee channel...
* Mercedes (<INSERT-VERY-VERY-LONG-USERNAME-HERE>@hotmail.com) has joined channel &bitlbee
...so, I think this would be a nice enhancement.
Many thanks in advance.
AC.

Milestone: | 1.0.2 |
---|
Yeah, although I don't know if there's a setting for that.
Anyway, it seems the submitter is planning to write a patch for this before we release 1.0.2? Or should I maybe unset the milestone? ;-)

The fact is that not all IRC clients has support for this feature. It'd be cool to be sure this opt be always set, despite circumstances of IRC clients. Disabled by default, would be only good, I think. BTW. I wish I knew how to write it. :-P

My point was, unless you're a paying customer (but even then) it's a bit rude to set a milestone for a bug. A bit demanding, even though I hope it wasn't intended like that. Anyway, that's why I unset it.
But it's a trivial thing to implement, so this doesn't mean it won't happen. :-)

You are right. I sincerely offer my apologies. Even though it wasn't intended like that, I shouldn't have set a milestone. :-\

What about a buddy_hostmask setting?
You set it to "handle" and it'll behave the way it does now. You can set it to "nick" and it'll be like $nick@$bitlbee_server, and probably another setting to include the protocol/account name in the hostmask (which was also requested a little while ago).

Looks perfect to me.
The Bitlbee logs will be very anonymous. :-)
Thank you very much, wilmer.

changing subject to what this really is. does that icq email still work, btw?
This is something for your irc client. Just change some theme settings i think.
